The Kapoor family recently came together in Delhi to meet our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The occasion marked the beginning of the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of the iconic Raj Kapoor, whose influence on Indian cinema remains timeless.

On Wednesday, the Kapoor family members shared photos of their memorable day on social media. The group photo, now making waves online, featured PM Modi alongside some of Bollywood’s most renowned faces—Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and her husband Bharat Sahni, Rima Jain, Manoj Jain, and their children Armaan, Aadar, and Aadar’s wife, Anissa Malhotra. Representing another branch of the family were Nikhil Nanda and Nitasha Nanda, the children of Raj Kapoor’s late daughter, Ritu Nanda.

Reflecting on the day, many family members of the Kapoor family shared the same heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi on Instagram. They wrote:

“We are deeply humbled and honored to have been invited by the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, to commemorate the extraordinary life and legacy of our grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor. Thank you, Shri Modi ji, for such a special afternoon. Your warmth, attention, and support in celebrating this milestone meant the world to us.”

The meeting was a mark of respect for Raj Kapoor’s legacy, someone who redefined Indian cinema for us. On the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary, the entire Kapoor family announced the ‘Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival,’ from December 13–15, 2024. This celebration will feature ten of Raj Kapoor’s most iconic films, reaching audiences in 40 cities and 135 theaters across India.

Neetu Kapoor also posted candid photographs from the meeting, showcasing the warmth and mutual respect between the Kapoors and the Prime Minister. Neetu Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, shared her memories as well on social media. She has been making headlines post her show ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.

Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a heartwarming detail from the meeting: PM Modi took time to write a message for her sons, Jeh and Taimur. It was a moment of warmth and connection that resonated deeply with the family.
